   4 You have downloaded version 2.5 of the GTK+ port of the
   5 wxWidgets GUI library.

   7 wxWidgets no longer supports GTK 1.0.x (as did some early
   8 snapshots) and support for GTK 1.2.x will be phased out
   9 over time. Nearly all work is now done on GTK 2.0.x and
  10 quite a few of the enhancements of GTK+ 2.2.x and even
  11 GTK 2.4.x are used.

  20 INSTALL.txt, but if you cannot wait, this should work on
  21 many systems:

  25     ../configure --with-gtk

  31 In order to use wxGTK with GTK 2.0 you need to use --enable-gtk2
  32 configure option. To build the library in Unicode mode (all
  33 strings will be wide strings and so on) you need to configure
  34 with GTK 2.0 and add --enable-unicode.

  36 Please note that it is strongly advised to build the library in
  37 a separate directory, as shown above, as it allows you to have
  38 different builds of it (for example with and without debug) in
  39 parallel. If you build in the source directory, don't forget to
  40 do "make clean" before changing the configuration!

  45 please send a bug report to one of our mailing list, INCLUDING

  47 VERSION OF GTK, WXGTK, WHAT DISTRIBUTION YOU USE AND WHAT ERROR
  48 WAS REPORTED. I know this has no effect, but I tried...
