  41 converts a Microsoft Windows Device Independent Bitmap image file to
  42 .SM TIFF.
  43 If several input BMP files are being specified the multipage
  44 .SM TIFF
  45 output file will be created. By default, the
  46 .SM TIFF
  47 image is created with data samples packed (\c
  48 .IR PlanarConfiguration =1),
  49 compressed with the PackBits algorithm (\c
  50 .IR Compression =32773),
  51 and with each strip no more than 8 kilobytes.
