   4 1. Where to update the version numbers:

   6    There are several places in the wxWidgets source tree that
   7    define the version number for the library.  When updating the
   8    version number all of these files must be edited:

  11        {wx}/*.spec
  12        {wx}/include/wx/version.h
  13        {wx}/include/msvc/wx/setup.h
  14        {wx}/src/wxvc_dll.dsp
  15        {wx}/samples/minimal/borland_ide.cpp
  16        {wx}/docs/latex/wx/manual.tex
  17        {wx}/docs/changes.txt
  18        {wx}/docs/gtk/changes.txt
  19        {wx}/build/bakefiles/wxpresets/presets/wx_win32.bkl
  20        {wx}/build/script/win_docs.bat {windows doc and setup file}

  23    The script misc/scripts/inc_release can be used for incrementing
  24    the release field of the version, i.e. changing 2.8.x to 2.8.x+1.
