1These notes intend to help people working on the CVS versions of
2Bison. Only the sources are installed in the CVS repository (to ease
3the maintenance, merges etc.), therefore you will have to the
4maintainer tools we depend upon:
5
6- Automake 1.6 or 1.6.1

7- Autoconf 2.53a or better
8 ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/autoconf/autoconf-2.53a.tar.gz (992 kB)
9 ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/autoconf/autoconf-2.53a.tar.bz2 (756 kB)

12Only building the initial full source tree will be a bit painful,
13later, a plain `cvs update -P & make' should be sufficient.
14
15* First CVS checkout
16
17Obviously, if you are reading these notes, you did manage to check out
18Bison from CVS. For the records, you will find all the relevant
19information on:
20
21 http://savannah.gnu.org/cvs/?group_id=56
22
23The next step is asking the installation of all the missing files:
24
01c56de4 25 $ ./bootstrap
d1a6f01e
AD
26
27And there you are! Just
28
29 $ ./configure && make && make check
30
31At this point, there should be no difference between your local copy,
32and the CVS master copy:
33
34 $ cvs diff
35
36should output no difference, except maybe the date in po/*.po files.
37
38Enjoy!
